Summer City of Festivals

Sorry no card today as I'm getting ready to travel very soon. I thought I'd show you what my daughter and I did yesterday.

Okay, there's not much to do in Edmonton during the winter, but in summer you can choose to be forever on the go! We have so many festivals going on during the months of June thru to August, it's a wonder anybody works around that time. The thing is, that around the last few weeks of July til the first 2 weeks in August there are 3 - 4 events going on at the same time.

Yesterday, I took my daughter to The taste of Edmonton. This is where you can go and sample many of the different hotel and resturant food in one place and not pay a arm, leg and hip for it. Not only can you sample food but beer and wine as well, they have live music and entertainment.

I had never heard of fried mars bars before Saturday, when the girls over at The Stamping Boutique talked about it, I thought fried chocolate? When we went to the taste, they had some there and I decided to try it! hhhmmmm good!

Beary Cherry

The freebie image this week if you played last week over at Stretch N' Bubbles is called Bear Cupcake. Sweet "Mice" Day

On Friday when I opened my inbox I recieved this cute image and sentiment from Faith at Designed 2 Delight, it's called Mice Day. Isn't it cute, you can find more wonderful images here.

So, Double Delights challenge this week is to add buttons, buttons, buttons with a hint of blue somewhere on your project. This is what I came up with. The sketch I used is from The Sweet Shop challenge #66, I saw this and knew it would be perfect with this image.

July Mingle!

Here is a card I did for the Magnolia-licious July mingle group on yahoo, this month it was all about butterflies. I used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch for the the one at the top of the card and then cut out the one at the bottom from Recollections Tatton Garden design paper. I'm also entering this card into the Beary Sweet Challenge #6 or BSC6, this time it's a sketch challenge. Their challenges runs on the first and the 15th of each month. They offer products from their very own Beary Scrap shelves. There's still plenty of time to enter, go over and check it out, you have until July 31, 2010 to enter.

Chicken In!

Over at Double Delight the challenge is to POP IT UP, that's right use dimensionals to pop up all or parts of this image. If you played last week you would have gotten Cluck for free, if not then you can find him over at Faith's Designed2Delight digital stamp shop. I popped up all of Clucks body and than partially cut out the wing and curved it. I also use flower soft to give it a little more dimension. Baby Blue

Over at Phindy's Place the challenge this week is to "Go Blue", but, who could get blue after seeing this super sweet image, don't you just love it. There is nothing blue about a Mother's love. Anywho, I thought the little toy the baby is holding looked like a lamb, so I puffed it up to give it some texture, than I added this cute little brad buddie from Hot Off The Press (HOTP) . The bow brad on the lamb was actually purple and I used my blue copic marker to color it and than heat set it.

Gamer Alert!

This week over at Mo's Challenge blog the challenge is to make a male card, I don't make very many of these so this was really a challenge for me. I chose this image beacause it reminded me of my son, who loves to game any chance he gets. The sketch is from The Sweet Shop and the the twist is to use a tag somewhere on your card. I'm also entering this card into Stamp Something challenge. They are holding another one of their monthly "Go Digital" challenges, so all you have to do is use something digital on your creation. They are being sponsored by several different digital companies who will be giving away several of their images or a Gift Certificate if you win! And a Sketch too!

If you played with Stretch N' Bubbles Bird song image last week then you would have recieved this cute Little stem to play with this week. She has two other companions to complete the set, go over to the shop and pick them up. I not only used the image but I also used one of there own sketches this week, you can find those here. I thought it would go so good with this image, and I'm very pleased how it came out.

Swan Song!

Just a quick post today, over at Crafting with Deedee's, she is having a sketch challenge. You have until Sunday night to join in the challenge. Here is my card, I used the "for the lovebirds" digi that she has at her store here, go over and take a look.

Love is.....

Phindy's challenge this week is to have some kind of embossing on your card. I used Tim Holtz Rays embossing set so that it could look like the sun, hence all the yellow. The digital stamp is, of course, Phindy's, called Patience, it is part of her Summer Cuties collection. I absolutely love this image, and the rest of the Summer Cuties collection, who could resist them. Go by her shop and check them out, you'll fall in love with her images.
I'm also entering this card into several challenges over at the CDAC site and this will be my second entry into Paper Sundaes, Layer it up challenge!

Triple Delights!

Over at Double Delights the challenge this week is to emboss it, I'm not sure if you can see the embossing on my card to well, but it is there, this wonderful digi stamp is, of course, from Faith's Designed 2 Delight progressive challenege,where everyone who playes wins. It's all about Circles!

I've had this digital stamp from Meljen's Designs colored for awhile, I just needed the right challenge to use it. Well, I found it this week over at Meljen's Designs. It's circles galore, they want you to have cirles some place on your project. As you can see, I made an easal circle card, punched out circles and used circle pattern paper. With Sympathy

This week has been a sad one, I've had 2 funerals to attend this week, both from my church family. The first one was on Thursday and the second one was Sunday. It so happened that I had made this card for CDAC ( Crafter's Digital Art Center) a few weeks before for a challenge and now I actually had to use it. The digital stamp is from Ethereal Forest Designs, and was a freebie on the CDAC site. When I saw this stamp, saw the rain I thought of tears and how it would be great for a sympathy card, I didn't imagaine that I would need it so soon.

TNT Week! (Totally Nutty Twist)

I must admit, I' m really very happy at the way this card came out. I made this card with two challenges in mind. The first one is a progressive challenge over at Stretch n' bubbles, every month they have a freebie on the first Wednesday. All you have to do is grab it, make a project with it and post it to your blog linking back to the SNB Shop. In return you will receive a second free digital stamp, you will have one week to do this. Repeat this process and you will receive a freebie each week. Everybody is a winner, how great is that!
The second challenge is a sketch challenge this week over at Shirleys 2 Girls, they will have one winner for every 20 entries, up to a max of EIGHT winners. The winners will receive an S2G digi image of their choice from the S2G SHOP.

Over at Michelle Perkett Studio the challenge is to make a white on white card with a colored image. This is what I came up with, the image is a freebie from Michelle's CDAC group, her name is Penelope, isn't she cute. Oh Canada!!

To all my Canadian bloggers out there, Happy Canada Day.

That's right July 1st is Canada Day and there will be a lot of things going on today. A lot of bbqs, parties, activities for the kids and of course lots of fireworks. So, I'm wishing everyone a safe, happy and great extra long weekend for those who get it!
