Two birthdays in one week, thank God I did this one in advance!
I made this card for my mothers birthday, which was on Monday, March 29. The digi stamp is from Designed 2 Delight and I used a stencil and glitter to make the background paper.
This card I made for my girlfriends birthday on March 30. I used glossy paper and sprayed it with glimmer mist, then I used a stencil and paste to get the swirly image. I quickly sprinkled glitter on the paste before it dried, then I stamped the HAPPY BIRTHDAY on it.

Challenges last week.
Here is the card that I entered into Karens Doodles UK challenge blog last week. Karen was giving away this free image on your PCP and SNR groups. Isn't she cute! Truth be told, I haven't had a lot of time to create any projects this week, I've been so busy at work and home. But, this week is spring break and I decided to take some well deserved vacation time, YAY! finally, some time to my self... okay maybe not, I still have the kids. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some crafting done. I was also able to get this card done for Sew Many Challenges last week, don't you love the cute butterfly!
So, my girlfriend is pregnant with her first child, and I didn't have a card ready for her shower, thank God for Sweet N Sassy. They have digi day every Thursday on there SNR group and their challenge was to make a Baby card, this is what I came up with. I hope she like it!

Spring?
Saturday was the first day of spring and and last night in Edmonton we got wet snow, can you believe that. I was so looking forward to seeing that last bit of snow melt, seeing the brown/green grass and getting out the BBQ. Oh well, I guess the snow gives me a good excuse to stay home and craft. In fact, I used Faith's free digital stamp from Designed 2 Delight to make this spring looking card.
This will be entered into her challenge which are progressive, so make sure you check out her blog and read the rules so you don't miss out on any of the freebies. I also will be entering this card into Digital delights Delightful sketches. I really enjoyed making this card, I love the bright colors, hope you enjoy it too!

New to Me!
Hi everyone, this blogging thing is new to me so please bear with me. I have yet to decide if I'll use this for both my cardmaking/scrapbooking and cross stitching or if I'll set up two blogs. Perhaps it's better to start with one until I get the hang of things.
I've been cross stitching for a very long time, since grade 4, and enjoy it very much. Depending on the project it takes quite a while to complete but once done it is very gratifying. Most of the time I give away my stitched images as gifts to friends and family, the others I keep and put up in the house. Needless to say I actually don't have a lot in the house.
As for cardmaking, I have been doing it for about 2 years now, so I'm still in the honeymoon phase. I also enjoy this, it's a lot quicker with the same gratifying results. I seem to do a lot of challenges, that way I learn to use different techniques and methods. I do, however, seem to be collecting a number of cards, I make more than I need to give away. My 10 year old daughter has joined me and has a blog herself, Cards by Nesha. She recently entered Karens Doodles challenge for kids, it runs bi-weekly.
I also entered Karens Doodles challenge, but at her U.S site, here, I really love her images. Here is the card I made for her very first challenge, last week.
This was a sketch challenge, this week the challenge is to make a Easter or spring card. Go check it out, I promise you'll fall in love with her images too!
